Developed an interest in educational inequality in high school, conducted international comparative research, and won a domestic competition for the paper. Currently engaged in activities to reduce educational disparities with NPOs and student groups in the Noto region. Also plans and runs inquiry-based learning events for children and leads a university seminar on the theory and practice of inquiry learning. Interested in digital skills as well, works on robotics and math-driven problem solving using digital technology, and has achieved results in competitions in Japan and abroad—bridging science & technology with education.

2nd year, College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities I), The University of Tokyo

Has collaborated with students from Japan and abroad through a field program in the Philippines focusing on urban and agricultural development and poverty, and by organizing student conferences in Boston and Tokyo. Active in Ubunture UTokyo since its launch last year, exploring approaches to educational cooperation through fundraising, curriculum design, and field visits. Aims to promote international educational cooperation that expands children's possibilities by connecting people across countries and backgrounds.

1st year, College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities II), The University of Tokyo

Spent four years studying in the U.S. starting from the third year of junior high school, serving as vice president of the high school chapter of a major entrepreneurship education organization, where he organized park cleaning volunteer projects in collaboration with environmental NPOs. Experiences working with people of diverse backgrounds at educational institutions and NPOs sparked his interest in cross-border problem-solving. Currently a member of the student organization MIS, working with Vietnamese university students on waste management issues, handling project planning and local relationship building.

2nd year, College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities I), The University of Tokyo

Attended the Japanese School in Johannesburg, South Africa, for two years. Through international exchange programs at local elementary schools and orphanages, developed a deep interest in South African society and international cooperation. In a university seminar, wrote a thesis on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission established post-apartheid, conducting field visits to local institutions like the Constitutional Court. Active in organization management and event operation as the representative of a squash club and a member of the school festival committee, and served as vice-representative of a joint student exchange program between UTokyo and Seoul National University.

2nd year, College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities II), The University of Tokyo

Has practiced abacus (soroban) since childhood, achieving the highest rank of 10th dan in both abacus and mental arithmetic, and won a national championship in team competition. Interested in educational disparity, she participated in initiatives like the "Your Choice Project" and "Field Study Program" to deepen her understanding of educational inequality and social issues. Through her participation in the UTokyo Global Internship, she broadened her international perspective by interacting with Thai students and realized the importance of cross-border collaboration. Subsequently, she founded and serves as the representative of a student organization where students from diverse backgrounds tackle social issues.

2nd year, College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities I), The University of Tokyo

Spent his childhood attending an international school in the Middle East, living alongside friends from all over the world. Through participating in English debate in high school, he developed a strong desire to cherish international connections in university as well. He is currently active as the president of UTDS, a parliamentary English debate club. Inspired by a past visit to South Africa where he witnessed local disparities firsthand, he decided to join this project. At Ubunture UTokyo, he mainly supports communication with overseas partners using English.

1st year, College of Arts & Sciences (Humanities III), The University of Tokyo

Participated in a global leader program in Singapore during high school, where engaging with local university students through classes and Model United Nations sparked an interest in international cooperation. Has also been active in the Boy Scouts for ten years, participating in numerous volunteer and international exchange programs. Inspired by a mentor in the Boy Scouts who traveled across Australia by bicycle during university, aims to travel across the African continent in the future.

Faculty of Letters (French Language and Literature), The University of Tokyo

Developed an interest in colonialism issues during high school graduation research and is currently interested in such issues in African countries. Traveled to Senegal for two weeks during the first year of university as part of a club activity, conducting a brief survey on local discourses surrounding historical perceptions of the colonial era. Plans to study abroad in South Africa for one year starting this July, focusing on post-colonial issues across literature, political science, and sociology.

After representing Japan at the Future Scientists Summer Camp in middle school and spending time with students from ten countries, became interested in how social issues facing children in Africa and Asia are lived realities for friends. From August, will study at African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg as the first fully funded Asian student. A Rise Global Fellow and Mercedes-Benz Fellow, involved in education projects across five countries. She led Ubunture collaborations with African students and local organizations.

3rd year, Faculty of Engineering (Applied Chemistry), The University of Tokyo

Drawing on seven years of invasive-species research through university, including two peer-reviewed papers, she supports high school and university students through a University of Tokyo research program. A year of volunteer experience in Cambridge and Sydney, along with several overseas placements, has also given her a strong interest in education and exchange activities abroad.

2nd year, College of Arts & Sciences (Natural Sciences I), The University of Tokyo

Developed an interest in aviation in high school, researching accident investigations and pilot training, and won a national championship in an English-language debate competition on international relations. Currently a member of HUAP, a circle connecting with Harvard students at the University of Tokyo, where he leads members as vice-representative handling planning and external relations — a role he also took on at Ubunture. He is researching CBTA-based pilot training with the cooperation of several companies and has authored papers on the topic.

3rd year, Department of Integrated Sciences (Basic Science of Matter), College of Arts & Sciences, The University of Tokyo

Studying alongside children from many countries at international schools and schools in the United States, and through Model United Nations activities since high school, he developed an interest in diplomacy and international development. Selected to represent Japan at Model UN, he won top honors at the world competition. He also won top honors at a Model African Union competition held as a TICAD side event, where meeting South African engineers and South Africa's ambassador to Japan exposed him to their passion for the country and sparked his own interest in South Africa.

Runs a digital inquiry-learning classroom, planning and delivering an education curriculum both online and offline. Also interested in international development and cooperation, she has worked through an internship at an international education startup on exchange programs with schools in Southeast Asia and Africa, and on partnership projects with local education boards.

2nd year, College of Arts & Sciences (Natural Sciences II), The University of Tokyo

Represented Japan at the International Geography Olympiad in two consecutive competitions, winning a bronze medal, and was recognized with the MEXT Minister's Award and the MEXT Minister's Special Award for these achievements. With a strong interest in international geography, he handled sociological research, analysis, and fact-checking for this project.

Has broad interests spanning many fields since high school, and has taken part in several community-service and international-exchange programs. Currently studying digital technology and small-business support, with a long-term goal of contributing to Japan's economic revitalization through both. On this project, he worked on producing teaching materials for digital education.
